What do I have to do to enroll?

Here you will find some of the requirements to become a cadet in our program. We expect all cadets to live the core values of integrity, service, and excellence through everything that they do. If you are interested in joining, visit the Contact Us page to get in touch with a cadre member.

Crosstown Schools

In order to participate in Air Force ROTC at the University of Pittsburgh, you must either be a Pitt student or attend one of the following schools.

  • California University of Pennsylvania
  • Carlow University
  • Carnegie Mellon University
  • Chatham College
  • Community College of Allegheny County
  • Duquesne University
  • Franciscan University of Steubenville
  • La Roche College
  • Penn State - Greater Allegheny
  • Penn State - New Kensington
  • Pitt - Greensburgh
  • Point Park University
  • Robert Morris University
  • Saint Vincent College
  • Washington & Jefferson College
  • Other Requirements

    Cadets at Detachment 730 are held to high standards and challenged to exceed expectations. We will help you achieve your goals, but as a potential cadet, you must come prepared in order to succeed in our program.

    Academics

    Once in the program, cadets must pass LLAB and AS class with at least a C-. Scholarship cadets must maintain a GPA above 2.5.

    Fitness

    Cadets must meet weight and fitness standards, including passing the Physical Fitness Assessment every semester, in order to obtain and remain on scholarship.

    Medical

    Cadets must be medically eligibile to enter active duty. Visit the Air Force ROTC webite in order to learn more about the medical requirements.

    Attendance

    While cadets must attend 80% of both LLAB and PT, 100% attendance is the standard. Cadets are also expected to be actively involved in other AFROTC events.
